I have had the privilege of photographing the dancers at the Stoney Brook Dance Company for the past 4 years. One of the highlights of this is attending the Dance Recital – and last evening they had the “Dare to Dance” recital at the Pantages Theatre in Winnipeg.
Over 3 hours long – but it didn’t seem that way! I’ve gotten to know the dancers over the years and it’s been wonderful watching them grow – both in height
as well as their confidence and dance ability!
All the dances were fabulous – but there were two that stood out in my mind that seemed to get the biggest applause. One of them was “Jungle”.
One of the last performances of the evening was “Thriller”. The hair and make-up was fabulous – the music was great – and the dancers were outstanding! The audience loved it as well!
At the end of the evening they honoured the girls that were graduating – these girls are all really talented and during the Dance Photos I had an opportunity to photograph them, along with others in “Senior Company” and Miss Amanda and Miss Karla.
I’m going to miss these girls!
The ‘Little Stars’ Recital is happening this Saturday and Sunday.
